In Maragnole, a locality within the municipality of Breganze in the province of Vicenza, an annual festival dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel takes place. This event is eagerly anticipated by the residents and has become a part of the local tradition. Thanks to a twinning arrangement with Pellestrina, a small island in the Venetian lagoon, the Fish Festival is held during the celebration. This is an opportunity to savor traditional fish cuisine, typical of the lagoon area.
During the event, a wide variety of fish dishes can be tasted: sautéed mussels, sardines in saor, stewed cuttlefish, seafood salad, grilled scallops, fried fish, spaghetti with seafood, and much more.
